Memory Lane Café

Memory Lane Café is a monthly dementia-friendly café run by the Gaiety volunteer team, which welcomes people living with dementia or memory loss, along with their carers, family members and friends. Sessions usually take place at Gaiety 2, 1C Arthur Street, or The Gaiety Studio, with occasional special events held at easily accessible partner locations.

The café provides a warm, friendly and supportive environment where people can connect, share experiences and enjoy time together. Each session has a different theme, and includes a range of gentle activities designed to keep both body and mind active. These may include quizzes, arts and crafts, music and conversation.

Regular social interaction is incredibly important for people living with dementia, helping to build confidence, stimulate memory and reduce feelings of isolation. Memory Lane Café offers a safe and welcoming space where attendees can relax, engage, and feel part of their community. For many who attend, Memory Lane Café is the highlight of their month.

The café is free to attend. To help us create a comfortable and supportive environment, spaces are limited and booking in advance is required.

Our thanks to Age Concern Ayr for their support of this project.
