Mother Goose is a good egg, the most giving of souls – salt of the earth and kind to a fault – she would give you her last ha’penny if you needed it. But when her faultless generosity lands her neck deep in the stinking Ayrshire proverbial, it will take a touch of eggs-ellent panto magic to save her Ayrshire bacon. In these tough times who could turn down a Goose that lays Golden Eggs? But will it really help her, or will it set her down a path towards eggs-treme greed and vanity? You can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs after all…

Audio Described Performances
Audio Described Performances support people who are blind or partially sighted to access live performances. An audio describer will introduce the set and characters to audience members by providing verbal descriptions, which continues throughout the performance via a headset.

BSL Interpreted Performances
BSL (British Sign Language) Interpreted performances provide access to deaf people, or people for whom BSL is their preferred language. BSL Interpreters provide a linguistic and artistic interpretation. Our interpreter will stand to one side of the stage and narrate the events and dialogue through BSL.

Captioned Performances
Captioning is similar to television subtitling and gives deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people access to live performances. A captioner carefully prepares and cues text that appears in real time. Captioning at The Gaiety will appear on the digital screens at either side of the stage.

Relaxed Performances
Our relaxed performances are adapted in a number of ways to help reduce anxiety and create a supportive atmosphere for audience members who would benefit from a more relaxed environment. This could include neurodivergent people, people with learning difficulties and disabilities, and people with dementia. Relaxed performances can also be ideal for families with very young children – and really just anyone who feels more at ease knowing they can go in and out of the auditorium at any time during the show.
During a relaxed performance, house lights will be kept on low, loud noises will be softened, and special effects such as flashing lights will be kept to a minimum. At the start of the show, characters will be introduced on stage. We’ll also provide a breakout space, and you can come and go as you please.
