SCOTS is the musical history lesson no-one asked for but everyone needs! A multi-skilled cast retell some of our nation’s most iconic (and some forgotten) stories, in this hilarious high-speed journey through the history of Scotland, to answer the fundamental question; What Makes a Country?
SCOTS is the story of Scotland. Its past, present and future. Its people and places, triumphs and failures. All told by a figure who has seen it all… someone who witnessed the Picts and the Celts unite; who survived the battles of Stirling and Bannockburn; who heard the declaration of Arbroath; who witnessed Scottish Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution, the charge for women’s rights, the battle for gay rights, the call for Independence – basically, someone who’s seen some amount of ****!
Following ecstatic reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe, this ‘truly incredible’ (Broadway World) show has been upscaled and will tour main stages across Scotland.
Producers Raw Material said:
“When we first saw SCOTS at Play at A Play, Pie & Pint in 2023, we went in with no expectations—and came out laughing, crying, and completely won over. It was immediately clear this was a show bursting at the seams of its original setting, destined for much bigger stages. We’re thrilled to be scaling it up and taking it to Scotland’s finest theatres.”
