If ‘all the world’s a stage’, then how do we change ourselves to play different characters in different areas of our lives? Looking through the lens of a mock trial, this devised production invites the audience to be the Jury and follow the ups and downs of the “show”/trial as the company makes their case. This piece explores how we use performance throughout our daily lives and the challenges and benefits of finding your true self.

Followed by Post Show Discussion for both performances

Scotland’s National Festival of Youth Theatre (NFYT) creates an explosion of young creative talent. It is a celebration of the power of youth theatre, and is the largest gathering of youth theatres in the UK.

NFYT enables young people to celebrate a shared passion, and so offers them opportunities to develop as artists and creative thinkers. With an emphasis on inclusion, education and collaboration, NFYT aims to remove barriers, teach valuable life skills, and provide extraordinary new experiences.

Pitching its marquee in Ayr for the fourth festival in a row, the National Festival of Youth Theatre (otherwise known as #NFYT2024) features performances on The Gaiety main stage from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 July. Work will be presented by young performers from across the UK, in collaboration with international youth theatre groups. The line-up includes At The Root Theatre (West Lothian), The Gaiety Young Company (Ayrshire), CentreStage Dance Theatre (Kilmarnock), Follies Barne og Ungdomsteater / Children and Young People Theatre (Stavanger, Norway), Firefly Arts (Livingston), 1812 Youth Theatre (York), BRONKS (Brussels, Belgium), Theatre Alliance (Kilmarnock), NFYT & Sanctuary Queer Arts (All Scotland), and Glasgow Acting Academy (Glasgow)
