National Festival of Youth Theatre
Scotland’s National Festival of Youth Theatre (NFYT) is the largest biennial gathering of youth theatres in the UK. Over the course of a weekend, the festival will bring Ayr to life in an explosion of creative talent. Young people aged 14-22 from across Scotland will come together to discover, share and celebrate their passion for youth theatre arts. There will be performances at The Gaiety Theatre, the Festival Village at Rozelle and activities at other venues around the town.
The National Festival of Youth Theatre is produced by Youth Theatre Arts Scotland (YTAS), in partnership with the Gaiety Theatre and South Ayrshire Council. This is the fourth NFYT in a row to be hosted by Ayr – a testament to the welcome young people from all over Scotland – and the world – have found in Ayr on previous occasions.

With an emphasis on inclusion, education and collaboration, the festival aims to remove barriers, teach valuable life skills and provide extraordinary new experiences.
