The Figiro Quartet is an accomplished Jazz ensemble with decades of musical experience, and a wide repertoire from Trad Jazz Standards, Professional Light Jazz and Swing, to Modern Tunes with a Jazz / Swing Twist. Come along and enjoy some Trad Jazz and some ‘Dixie’ style, as well as some wonderful modern songs with a lovely Jazz Twist. This superb Scottish jazz quartet comprises pianist Frank McPhail, drummer John Patton, vocalist Fiona Kalin, and Prof Bob Kalin on double bass.

Frank McPhail PGDip Jazz is a pianist from Glasgow who has decades of experience throughout Great Britain as a Jazz Musician playing in clubs and with well-known bands. He studied Jazz Piano under the likes of John Taylor, Kenny Werner, Alan Broadbent and Gwilym Simcock.
John Patton is an accomplished Jazz drummer from the West of Scotland. He’s been playing on the Jazz scene for nearly 30 years and has shared the stage with a range of Scottish Jazz artists including Brian Molley, Konrad Wiszniewski and Stuart Gorman.
Fiona Kalin began her career with the Renaissance Singers in Belfast NI, touring the UK and ultimately winning the Montreux International Choral Festival in 1986. She applies her vocal talents to a wide range of musical styles including Jazz, Blues and contemporary.
Prof Bob Kalin BSc, MSc, PhD studied both science and music theory / conducting in the USA, and is a Professor of Environmental Engineering. Musically, he continues arranging for big bands, producing and recording, and performing; his main instrument is double bass.
