Ensemble

ENSEMBLE is a brand new performance company for actors, performers, directors, writers, or anyone interested in developing their professional experience of theatre in Ayrshire. The group meet weekly and develop their skills and as experience as theatre-makers.

ENSEMBLE is a company for those aged 16-25 who will work alongside likeminded young artists to produce two new performances between October
2020 and June 2021. The first term, beginning on 22nd October, which will last until December will be a filmmaking project based on a script by renowned writer, Chris Thorpe, made in collaboration with one of Scotland’s most exciting young film directors as part of Wonder Fools’ national project Positive Stories for Negative Times.

From the start of 2021, ENSEMBLE will work under the direction of Eoin McKenzie and critically acclaimed playwright to develop a brand-new work for the Gaiety’s mainstage. This production will be devised in collaboration with the ENSEMBLE and will be made to a professional standard – reflecting the quality of talent within the group.

ENSEMBLE seeks to work with the most exciting young artists from Ayrshire, and hopes to develop a community focused on making the most exciting theatre and performance for Ayrshire, whilst developing and expanding their understanding of theatre together.
