Rural Touring Network

The Ayrshire Rural Touring Network has now been in action for one year and what an exciting year it has been! So far, we have worked in 15 villages across Ayrshire hosting 32 performances of music, theatre, comedy and murder mysteries. Between July 2018 and January 2019 we will be hosting 48 performances in and around Ayrshire with incredible discounts for early bookings, families and groups.

Over 1,000 people have attended our Rural Touring events and the responses from audiences have been brilliant.

“We like travelling shows. It would be nice to see more in our hall.” – Barr Village

“The intensity of the performance was amazing. Extremely thought-provoking!” – [The Price of a Fish Supper] Fairlie Village Hall

“Very interactive. My 4 year old and 1 year old really enjoyed. Super show!” – [The Wonderful World of Lapin] Mossblown Centre

This season we’ll host kids clown comedy, ‘Jango Starr’, three fantastic Scottish bands; ‘Barluath’, ‘Kilda’ and the ‘Alistair McCulloch Trio’ . We are delighted to be collaborating with the Ballantrae Smuggler’s Festival 2018 to bring you ‘A Smuggler’s Murder Mystery’ and ‘The McDougall’s Treasure Hunt’.

We aim to provide something for everyone with a range of different genres and various age considerations. Our Autumn programme will commence in September and will include cabaret, jazz, dance, children’s theatre, Canadian folk music, a beautiful string concert for Christmas, a family-friendly Christmas show from Northumberland Theatre Company and a commemorative wartime play by Northsouth Theatre.

If you have any questions about the project or would like to get involved, please contact Susan Robertson, Rural Touring Coordinator on susan.robertson@ayrgaiety.co.uk or on 01292 270 929
