Two is a heart-felt comedy about humanity, loss, friendship and ultimately…brain eating zombies!
Stuck in the middle of a Zombie Apocalypse, Ash and Harper are two strangers who are thrown together in the midst of survival. Blending new writing, music, projection and physical theatre, this two-hander performance has been devised alongside the performers, and will open the festival with a bang!
Scotland’s National Festival of Youth Theatre (NFYT) creates an explosion of young creative talent. It is a celebration of the power of youth theatre, and is the largest gathering of youth theatres in the UK.

NFYT enables young people to celebrate a shared passion, and so offers them opportunities to develop as artists and creative thinkers. With an emphasis on inclusion, education and collaboration, NFYT aims to remove barriers, teach valuable life skills, and provide extraordinary new experiences.

Pitching its marquee in Ayr for the fourth festival in a row, the National Festival of Youth Theatre (otherwise known as #NFYT2024) features performances on The Gaiety main stage from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 July. Work will be presented by young performers from across the UK, in collaboration with international youth theatre groups. The line-up includes At The Root Theatre (West Lothian), The Gaiety Young Company (Ayrshire), CentreStage Dance Theatre (Kilmarnock), Follies Barne og Ungdomsteater / Children and Young People Theatre (Stavanger, Norway), Firefly Arts (Livingston), 1812 Youth Theatre (York), BRONKS (Brussels, Belgium), Theatre Alliance (Kilmarnock), NFYT & Sanctuary Queer Arts (All Scotland), and Glasgow Acting Academy (Glasgow)

Join us and experience early productions from the future of Scottish theatre.
