Join Elaine C Smith and support the future of The Gaiety

The Gaiety Theatre, as we now know it, would not exist without the support of people like you. Together with generous donors, massive audiences and incredible volunteers, we have reopened and restored Ayr’s Category B-listed theatre. As we move forward, your support is still vital to make sure that The Gaiety continues to be a special place for another 114 years.

The Gaiety is here for everyone and reaches into every part of our community. We see audiences of over 60,000 create memorable experiences in our iconic theatre each year. And in addition to programming 250 live performances in Ayr, we also improve the lives of almost 4,000 people each year across Ayrshire from disadvantaged backgrounds. From introducing young people from rural communities to drama, to improving the wellbeing of those living with dementia in care homes, to helping young people gain skills, qualification and jobs in technical theatre.

But we can’t do it without you. If The Gaiety has ever inspired or entertained you, there’s several ways you can invest in its future so we can continue to do the same for generations to come.

Why others support The Gaiety

“We’re so lucky to have a theatre like The Gaiety on our doorstep. All our family enjoy the amazing variety of shows that are performed at The Gaiety. We support our local theatre so it can continue to be enjoyed by many.”McCormick Family
“I would be lost without the Gaiety. It’s unique in Scotland, and is an essential part of the attractions of Ayr. It is heartening to see how far The Gaiety has come, with help from the whole community. Long may it continue to develop and prosper.” – Jennifer West
“The Gaiety will always have a special corner in my theatre life. In 1954 I started working as a stage hand at The Gaiety. It was the skills I learned backstage at The Gaiety that helped me to have a long and, on the whole, successful life in theatre.” – Ruari McNeill

You can make a HUGE difference!

Join Elaine C Smith and become a Gaiety Champion today – because people who support their local theatre are champions!

Already The Gaiety creates memorable experiences for audiences of over 60,000 each year. Our drama and arts workshops enrich the lives of thousands of excluded young people in schools and communities as far apart as Irvine, Cumnock and Girvan. For many older people living with dementia, our creative workshops in care homes are the highlight of their week. We also make a proven difference to the local economy.

But we can’t do any of this without you. We are a charity and depend on the continued generosity of our incredible volunteers, donors, audiences – and our Gaiety Champions. Like those who entertain you on The Gaiety stage, our Champions deserve to take a bow and receive a round of applause. From just £5 a month, you can take centre stage in supporting the future of The Gaiety.

So I’m asking you to consider making a small regular donation because it gives us certainty. With you as a Gaiety Champion, we can plan ahead to deliver more activities for disadvantaged people, book better acts and make even more difference to our community. Whatever amount you can afford, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
